Oil prices fell on Tuesday after US President Donald Trump announced a tentative ceasefire between Iran and Israel.

Brent futures tumbled almost 5pc toward $68 a barrel in early trading, before paring that drop. The plunge followed a roller-coaster session on Monday that ended in steep losses that took prices below the level on June 12, the day before Israel attacked Iran.
